dry white wines of Bergerac: BERGERAC, dry MONTRAVEL

Generally lightly coloured and brilliant, Bergerac dry white offers a fresh, pleasant bouquet with a zesty attack and good length. Zesty and fruity in the mouth to be drunk young, or round with a complexity from barrel-aging if they are matured. With maturation their floral nose and subtlety increases.

The Montravel dry white wines are very aromatic (white flowers), velvety in the mouth and well structured. Often matured on the lees, they can be aged for a year or two.

RED WINES AND ROSES of Bergerac: Bergerac rosé, red Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac red, Montravel, Pécharmant.

Bergerac rosés are characterized by their crisp fruitiness (raspberry, strawberry) and great fresh flavour.

Bergerac red wines are soft, quite fruity with aromas of strawberry, blackcurrant and other red fruits.

Côtes de Bergerac are dark, structured, complex and offer ripe fruit aromas (prune). Their concentration provides excellent aging potential (10 to 15 years sometimes).

Montravel red wines have intense colour, a nose of very ripe fruit and toasty notes with hints of vanilla. The are full bodied with a long finish offering pleasure between at between 2 and 10 years of age. The WHITE WINE "SWEET" of Bergerac: Côtes de Bergerac, Rosette, Côtes de Montravel, Haut Montravel, Saussignac, Monbazillac.

Côtes de Bergerac are semi sweet and have a bright straw color. They combine roundness in the mouth and fresh flavor. They are best young.

The Rosette is a mellow wine of great distinction. It is soft and round, very balanced.

Côtes de Montravel are semi sweet wines while Haut Montravel are more concentrated and sometimes full sweet. The latter offers beautiful aromatic complexity and excellent aging potential.

Saussignac, an exceptional dessert wine, comes from noble rot grapes, harvested by successive passes through the vineyard. Their concentration and complexity are enhanced by a lovely freshness.

Monbazillac is a very elegant dessert, also harvested by successive hand sorting, reveals a powerful bouquet with hints of honey, acacia and spices. It can improve with cellar aging.
